SEA KAYAK SAFETY & RESCUE

Advanced Expedition Team Member Module 

The Sea Kayak Safety & Rescue module focuses on developing skills in water safety, personal risk management, and self / group rescue techniques. Students will learn how to assess rescue situations and to develop effective rescue strategies. Key topics include self-rescues, assisted rescues, swimming, towing, and throw-bag rescues. Emphasizing practical techniques, the course prioritises the safety of the rescuer and an effective risk assessment.  It also covers the essential equipment needed for working as part of a sea kayaking rescue team.

This course is also aimed at paddlers who do not want to become guides, but use this training to improve their personal skills and become competent team members!
