Advanced Expedition Team Member Module
The ISKGA Marine First Aid Course for Sea Kayakers equips participants with advanced first aid techniques tailored to the specific demands of sea kayaking environments. The course covers essential life-saving skills including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), advanced wound management, and emergency protocols for incidents such as capsize, hypothermia, and marine injuries. Participants will engage in hands-on training, scenario-based simulations, and learn best practices for emergency response both on the water and during rescue operations. Successful completion results in a certification that is recognised for its relevance in maritime and outdoor safety.
This course encompasses the essential basics of paddling a sea kayak on the ocean or other large bodies of water, the module also includes elements of sea safety, navigation and camp craft.
As paddlers advance through the three fundamental levels, they will work towards becoming skilled expedition team members, enhancing their abilities in paddle techniques, seamanship, camp craft, and navigation. They will also learn to support group objectives during expeditions.
