ISKGA GUIDE TRAINER
Guide Trainer Module
The ISKGA Trainers Program is designed to familiarize trainee trainers with the core ISKGA syllabus—helping them understand the subject content, system goals, and how the ISKGA system is structured to prepare an ISKGA Guide trainee for their Guide Observation. The program lasts five days, with a two-day assessment to finalize the training.
This course encompasses the essential basics of paddling a sea kayak on the ocean or other large bodies of water, the module also includes elements of sea safety, navigation and camp craft.
As paddlers advance through the three fundamental levels, they will work towards becoming skilled expedition team members, enhancing their abilities in paddle techniques, seamanship, camp craft, and navigation. They will also learn to support group objectives during expeditions.
This module's essential Skills include Kayak and Paddle design, Equipment, Sea Safety, Paddle Techniques, Camp craft, and Navigation.
