International Coastal Guide Module
The Expedition Skills Module introduces a range of outdoor skills essential for effective expedition team members. You will learn how to prioritize survival situations as well as establishing effective campsite routines.
Core topics include shelter, fire lighting, cooking, water sourcing and treatment, and how to develop a functional emergency action plan.
The course also includes a detailed session on the guide’s/expedition team members personal equipment, covering distribution within the kayak, efficient loading for weight and trim. Additionally, the guide ensures that the content aligns with other key modules such as ‘Sea Survival’ and ‘Incident Management’ to maintain consistency across training.
This course is also aimed at paddlers who do not want to become guides, but use this training to improve their personal skills and become competent team members!
