Summer Expedition May 25th – June 1st 2019

In order to maximise the best time on the water either by sail or by kayak, the schedule may change slightly, depending on the prevailing weather conditions.

This is a unique opportunity to join a combined sea kayaking and sailing expedition in what has to be, one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. The Arctic mountain islands of Northern Norway are majestic in all of their splendour, standing proudly, like immense granite sentinels, protecting the coastline of the Northern Scandinavian peninsular.

The names of the islands themselves sound like characters from a Tolkien saga – Senja, Kvaløya, Nord Fugløya and so on…….

This whole region is steeped in maritime history – Tromso, the gateway to the Arctic, was the city port where nearly every North Pole expedition departed from, the boots of Amundsen, Nansen & Helle Hansen, have all walked the wharfs and streets of this northern city, often referred to as the ‘Paris of the North’.

The aim of this expedition is to sail and sea kayak through the region exploring the beautiful islands and beaches which are scattered boldly throughout this region.

Team members will meet at Bjørns Kajakk on the morning of the 25th May where they will be able to collect equipment required for the next seven days of sailing/sea kayaking and then help to load the sea kayaks and equipment onto S/V Ezra. They will then board and depart for the adventure of a lifetime.

Expedition price:  £2500 (does not include food or travel costs)

It is recommended that expedition members have adequate travel insurance.

A basic competency in kayaking is required for the trip, but if you do not possess this, prior training can be arranged. It is recommended that members of the team ensure that they are physically able to attend this expedition, seeking medical advice from their personal doctor if necessary.

This 8 day Summer expedition costs £2500 per person. This includes  Kayak (inclusive of kayaking related equipment) hire and all guiding activities.

There are only four spaces available on this expedition and we are anticipating that spaces will fill up fast. You can secure your booking by paying a £1250 deposit via the BOOK NOW link below or by contacting Jeff Allen on info@expeditionpaddler.com or call him +44 (0) 7789 286080.
